Who
are we?
I'm
into spearfishing and my name is Joe, from the south coast
of New South Wales. With 20+ years experience spearfishing
up and down the Australian east coast and a trip to New Zealand,
I reckon I've learnt a thing or 2. I'm currently the president
of my local skindiving club and I'm active with our zone committee.
My wife
is the second half of the Spearo's Sportswear Team. Although
Mary doesn't spearfish herself, she is pretty passionate about
the sport. Hey, being married to a spearo you just gotta be.
Mary works on our club newsletter, helps out at comps and
and is kept busy working on submissions or letters, to address
burning issues related to our sport.
Together
we came up with the concept of Spearo's Sportswear.

Why?
It all
began when our dive club needed some new shirts designed and
my daughter came up with a slogan and Mary and I came up with
a design to go with it. We were pretty pleased with the result
and enjoyed the creative side. We also reckon there are a
lot of people out there who are misinformed about our sport,
primarily the impact spearfishing has on fish stocks. We thought
t-shirt logos are a way of raising awareness and getting people
to think about our sport in a more positive light.

by raising
awareness of the sustainability and personal challenge of
the sport."
